特別文庫室には全部で15の文庫があり、江戸から明治の資料を中心に、約24万3千点の資料を所蔵しています。その中には、江戸幕府作事方（さくじかた）の大棟梁を代々務めた甲良（こうら）家伝来の「江戸城造営関係資料」（国指定重要文化財）646点が含まれています。平成28年10月29日から11月13日に開催した「いざ 江戸城へ！―白書院・黒書院にみる儀式と年中行事―」展では、江戸城本丸御殿の大広間、白書院、黒書院のほか、大広間と白書院を繋ぐ松之廊下に焦点を当て、資料をご紹介しました。

江戸城本丸御殿は、幕府の中枢を担う政庁でした。表・中奥・大奥の三つのエリアに分かれており、表は公式な儀式や年中行事の場でした。とりわけ表にある大広間、白書院、黒書院では、様々な儀式や行事が行われました。中奥に近い順に黒書院・白書院・大広間があり、玄関に近いほど公式性が高くなっています。これらの空間は、儀式などによって使い分けられ、時には一体的に使用されました。儀式に出席する諸大名は、官位などにより、服装や控の間はもちろん、部屋の中の着座位置までもがこと細かく定められていました。

今回は、展示した重要文化財「江戸城造営関係資料」の建築図面や色彩豊かな浮世絵（錦絵）などの中から、10点をご紹介します。

Here we showcase 10 items from the Tokyo Heritage Week 2016 Tokyo Metropolitan Library Exhibition, "Onward to Edo Castle! : Ceremonies and annual events held in the Shiro Shoin and Kuro Shoin" （October 29-November 13, 2016）. Focusing on the Ō-hiroma （the grand hall of the main keep）, the Shiro Shoin, and the Kuro Shoin drawing rooms, this exhibition introduced the appeal of Edo Castle.
The Honmaru Palace, the main section of Edo Castle was the heart of the Tokugawa Shogunate. In particular, a variety of ceremonies and events were held in the Ō-hiroma （the grand hall of the main keep）, the Shiro Shoin, and the Kuro Shoin drawing rooms. Daimyō （lords） who visited the castle were assigned antechambers and seating according to their official rank.
